Provo, UT—June 4, 2024

Angel Studios, the platform empowering filmmakers with full creative control to crowdfund and create, is announcing today a ten year, five film deal with Director Alejandro Monteverde.  Best known for films such as SOUND OF FREEDOM, BELLA, and CABRINI, Monteverde’s films are made for a big-screen experience and are beloved by fans and critics alike.

Monteverde first began working with the studio, with the release of the summer blockbuster SOUND OF FREEDOM, which became the #10 film in the box office for 2023. This was followed by his cinematic masterpiece, a biopic on the life of Francesca Cabrini which launched on International Women’s Day 2024. CABRINI achieved an impressive A CinemaScore, and was Certified Fresh by Rotten Tomatoes, with a 90% Critics Rating and a 98% Audience Score.

To launch the partnership, casting is nearing completion for a yet untitled project, set to begin principal photography this Summer on the Island of Malta. The film will be produced by Leo Severino  and will again pair Monteverde with Screenwriter Rod Barr, Cinematographer Gorka Gomez Andreu and Production Designer Carlos Lagunas.
