Everything We Know So Far About The Wingfeather Saga Season 3

by Angel Studios | January 10, 2025

The Wingfeather Saga animated series has amassed quite a fanbase during its two-season tenure on the Angel Studios platform, and rightfully so; the inventive animated series transports viewers into the magical world of Aerwiar, to the Glipwood home of the Wingfeather family, where terrible creatures and mythical quests abound.

Season 3 of the fan-favorite series is in production and is slated to come out LATER THIS YEAR! The third installment of The Wingfeather Saga, based on novels by the same name, will see the continuation of the Wingfeather siblings' harrowing journey to learn more about who they truly are. Shining Isle Productions has partnered with Angel Studios to produce this season, which has been funded by loyal Wingfeather fans in the Angel Guild.

BEWARE! A great many spoilers for the first two seasons of the Wingfeather Saga lie ahead! Read them at your own risk!

The first season of The Wingfeather Saga introduced us to our lovable main characters; the Igiby siblings, their mother, and their grandfather reside deep in the forest of Glipwood in the land of Skree, which is under the tyrannical rule of the fearsome Fangs of Dang. Janner, Tink, and Leeli are bright, inquisitive, adventurous kids who enjoy exploring their homeland and discovering new creatures. When a mysterious threat exposes their true identities as the Jewels of Anniera—royal heirs with a hallowed heritage and sacred responsibilities—the siblings must take a stand against enemies of all kinds to discover what they’re made of.

The show’s second season finds our favorite courageous siblings on the run. With their newfound identities as the Jewels of Anniera—royal heirs with a hallowed heritage and sacred responsibilities—they are now being chased by dangerous characters intent on their capture. From General Khrak (leader of the Fangs, voiced by Kellen Goff), to Claxton Weaver (a loathsome barbarian chief with a grudge against the family), enemies abound for the Jewels of Anniera. On top of everything, brothers Janner and Kalmar (formerly Tink), find themselves continually at odds as they struggle to reconcile with theirresponsibilities as Throne Warden and High King of Anniera. As they learn more about who they are, Janner, Kalamar, and Leeli must fight to protect each other, their friends, and the land they love from threats on all sides.

What Can We Expect From Season 3?

Season 3 of The Wingfeather Saga will pick up right where Season 2 left off and cover the rest of book two North! Or Be Eaten. When last we left the Igiby Family, they were separated across the expanse of Aerwiar, with Podo, Nia, and Leeli and their book-loving friend Oskar on their way to the city of Kimera in the ice prairies. After an unexpected detour at the Fork Factory (a labour facility where children make weapons for the Fangs of Dang) Janner follows his family’s journey from several days behind, with the company of his dagger-wielding friend, Maraly. Meanwhile, Kalmar has fallen into the hands of the enemy, trapped in the mysterious Phoob Islands along with his Uncle Peet.

New episodes are coming to the Angel Guild in 2025.

When Will Season 2 Be Free?

Among the many questions that we get from fans, one of the most common is, “When will Season Two be free for non-guild members?” While season one is free to watch on Angel.com, and we hope to continue to offer special free livestreams of future seasons on occasion, sustaining the show for the long haul requires a community of dedicated fans. That’s why season two and beyond will remain exclusively available to Guild members.

Based on the book series by the same name from Andrew Peterson, which has sold more than 1.5 million copies in America alone, The Wingfeather Saga is a hand-painted, 3D animated series for ages 6 and up made possible by crowdfunding. The cast includes Wizard’s Beyond Waverly Place star Alkaio Thiele, The Little Mermaid’s Jodi Benson, Billy Boyd from The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, and Kevin McNally of Pirates of the Caribbean fame. Both the books and animated series chronicle the adventures of the Wingfeather family as they navigate their magical country and fight against the occupation of the Fangs of Dang, which are led by Gnag the Nameless. The first season of the show depicts the events of the series’ first novel, with seasons 2 and 3 following the second novel.
