The Power of Pay It Forward: Bringing The King of Kings to Every Corner of the World
Angel’s Pay It Forward initiative is many things. It’s a revolutionary marketing tool for global exhibitors. It’s a creative and innovative way to bring people back to theaters. Most importantly, it’s a solution for those who may not have the opportunity to see movies on the big screen. Whether due to financial struggle or lack of screenings in their community, Pay It Forward exists to bridge those gaps and allow those without an opportunity the chance to watch something that impacted someone else in a powerful way.
A Mission-Aligned Movement
From its inception, Pay It Forward has been tied to the very core of Angel’s mission—to bring stories that amplify light to the world. Hand in hand with this goal, we rallied to make a much more direct impact. For the release of The King of Kings, and through Pay It Forward, we sought to bring as many children as possible to see the movie on the big screen.
A Story Worth Sharing
Today, we want to share an incredible experience from this last weekend that highlights the impact that Angel is having on kids around the world.
A few weeks ago, we were introduced to a non-profit foundation in Nigeria, Bread of Hope, that wanted to partner with Angel to bring kids in remote parts of Africa to watch The King of Kings in theaters.
Through our international partnership network, our partner FilmOne in Nigeria, and Pay It Forward, we were able to bring 907 children in Nigeria and Ghana to see The King of Kings!
From Makoko, Abuja, and Lagos, Nigeria, children who might not have had the opportunity to see The King of Kings were treated to an unforgettable experience, complete with concessions and transportation—courtesy of the many Guild members and theater patrons who took a moment to Pay It Forward.
A Global Vision Realized
For Angel International, we could not be happier. We have always imagined the impact that something like Pay It Forward could have on the world stage. The fact that this is happening on our first animated feature—and that it’s about the life and love of Jesus Christ—seems inspired. We believe that the lessons taught by the “Greatest Story Ever Told” have made the impact and generosity of Pay It Forward manifest.
